The Telephonic Depression Intervention (TDI) project is supported through grant funding and is available to ALL adult (18-65), low-income, English and Spanish-speaking patients, regardless of insurance. Patients who are most appropriate for this program include those who have been newly diagnosed with depression and who are not currently receiving any other specialty mental health treatment. Patients who score less than 10 on the PHQ-9, who are actively suicidal, or who have co-morbid diagnoses of bipolar mood disorder, psychosis, or active substance dependence disorder will be disqualified. Additionally, patients who are pregnant or who become pregnant during the course of the study will also be disqualified.
A comprehensive psychiatric assessment will be conducted by a masters level behavioral health clinician for which the provider will receive a report indicating the patient’s PHQ-9 score, mental health diagnosis(es) and treatment recommendations. Updated outcome data will be provided throughout the program.
