Eating Right - 6 week cooking course
Eating Right is a part of Share Our Strength’s Operation Frontline® program, which provides classes on nutrition, cooking, and budgeting to people of all ages. This is a hands-on cooking and nutrition class on how to get the most of out of your meals – and practice applying what individuals have learned at home. This six week course is led by volunteers who are trained to help individuals identify changes that can be made in their patterns of eating, cooking, and food-shopping habits. Volunteers include chefs, nutritionists, and other community members.
Through Eating Right, individuals will learn how to make foods that are tasty, healthy and low cost – and then shared what has been prepared together. Participants are encouraged to participate, share experiences, ask questions and practice at home.
